Javi Villa to seal his fourth national hillclimb title in Andorra.

Andorra, 7th of September: This weekend in Andorra sees the running of the Ordino-Arcalís hillclimb, the penultimate round of the 2016 Spanish Hillclimb Championship. Javi Villa goes to the second date of the series in the Pyrenees with the title of Category 2 almost secured after having won the five previous rounds.

In fact, the Asturian-born driver will only need to complete the Andorran event to clinch what will be his fourth consecutive Spanish Hillclimb Championship. Javi will also look for yet another overall win to add to the four already scored this year, beating, with his BRC B49, all the competitors in Category 1, where the most powerful cars of the national series are entered. A target that will be especially tough on the very steep slopes of Ordino-Arcalís, a hillclimb that returns to the route used in its previous time within the Spanish schedule, with the start line placed besides the ski station buildings. It's a very wide road, with good asphalt and a lot of hairpins followed by steep straights, to the advantage of the cars with more power in their engines, so beating them will be a really hard challenge for Villa.

The event organized by the 'Automóvil Club de Andorra' is also valid for the second division of the French Hillclimb Championship, which means the presence of several sport prototypes and single seaters which will be also tough rivals in the fight that all the competitors will have to grab the 'Joan Vinyes Trophy', to be award to the overall winner which has been established this year in the memory of the late driver from Andorra who was the 1989 Spanish Hillclimb Champion and who passed away last December when he was 69 years old.
