Javi Villa is looking for his second win of 2016.

The 2016 Spanish Hillclimb Championship celebrates its second round this weekend at the Ubrique-Benaocaz Hillclimb, the classic event from the Cadiz area, it is the second consecutive date in the region of Andalusia. It will see Javi Villa amongst its record entry of more than 120 drivers that will fight for the points awarded in the three categories of the Spanish series and the two of the regional championship. The Asturian-born driver arrives at Ubrique leading Category 2 of the Spanish Championship after his brilliant showing at Estepona where he won overall and beat the course record three times. All this was done at the wheel of the BRC B49, which will be his car again for Ubrique where he's one of the main contenders for the win.

Villa is looking not only to win again in Category 2 but also to repeat the overall win, even if that means beating again all the contenders in Category 1, that includes the more powerful cars of the championship. Javi left the first round of the season very pleased with the behavior of the BRC adapted to this season's rules so at Ubrique he's aiming to confirm the positive feeling he had at the previous event. The only doubts are related with the performance of the tyres in a second meeting, another of the new rules for 2016.

The Ubrique-Benaocaz hillclimb will be run following the usual schedule of the Spanish Hillclimb Championship events, with its programme split over two days. On Saturday afternoon there will be two practice and one timed climb whilst on Sunday morning the final practice and the two remaining 'races will take place'. The two best times set by each driver in the three timed climbs will decide the overall result and the standings for the different categories.
