Very positive first contact with Mont-Dore for Javi Villa.
Chambon Sur Lac, 10th August: Javi Villa started his debut at the historic hillclimb of the Mont-Dore, one of the more important rounds of the sport in Europe, very positively being fastest of all the entrants in the CM category with his BRC B49.

The Spanish driver completed the two practice climbs scheduled today without any problems as he set his fastest time, a 2:39.781, in the second session which put him a second ahead of the first CM car, the class in which his BRC B49 competes in the Spanish Championship although, in this event, the new model from Bango Racing Cars is still in the homologation process for the French Championship, therefore it has been included in the E2-SC group of the European series.

The time scored by Javi in the last climb of the day has also placed him eighth overall in the European Championship and 26th overall, just a little over a second away from the top 20 of an event where nearly 200 cars are competing, with more than 80 being sportscars, singleseaters and CMs, 20 in the latter from 5 different manufactures.

Tomorrow, Sunday, from 8:30AM, the three timed climbs will be run to decide the final result calculated on the aggregate of the two best times scored by each driver. Given today's performances by Javi with the BRC B49, his target will be to beat all the CM entrants again and try to beat some of the F3 cars to whose times he has been really close in what was just his first contact with the fast and technical slopes of Mont-Dore.

Javier Villa's own words: "Today has been mainly to get used to the course, working and preparing everything for the timed climbs on Sunday. Even though we have been one second faster than the next CM and we are not far from being amongst the top 20 overall, which would be really good as there are more than 80 sportscars, singleseaters and CMs, out of a total of nearly 200 cars. Tomorrow we are pushing hard and I think we can improve quite a lot but we'd have to see how much we could also improve against the F3 cars, as we are very close to some of them. This experience has been great, this hillclimb is really spectacular." ."
