Javi Villa tipped to win at the Langreo hillclimb.
Langreo 21st June. The Spanish Hillclimb Championships takes place this weekend, at Langreo (Asturias) with the Santo Emiliano Hillclimb, the fourth round of the 2013 season. A race with special meaning for Javi Villa as it was here, two years ago, when he competed in his first event in the national hillclimb series, winning the 'Fase B' climb that closed the programme.

The successful 2011 debut was the starting point for the many triumphs obtained by Javi since then in the Spanish Hillclimb championship. Among these victories was last year's Santo Emiliano, where he won the three timed climbs and was first overall, also setting a new record for the CM category at the wheel of the BRC CM05EVO.

Villa's ambitious targets for the 29th running of the Santo Emiliano Hillclimb are to repeat that triple win and beat his own record, this time driving the new BRC B49. A difficult double target that is especially motivating the young Spaniard. Javi has already won the six climbs he has done so far this year in the national series, winning at Ubrique and Fito, so he's tipped for the win both this weekend and to take the title at the end of the season.

The Langreo hillclimb will be run following the usual programme of the Spanish Championship events. On Friday afternoon the scrutineering will take place at the Juan Carlos Beiro Sports Hall, with Saturday seeing practice and timed climbs for Races 1 and 2. On Sunday morning are due the final practice and Race 3.
