Three out of three for Javi Villa at the Fito hillclimb.
Arriondas 19th of May. It had rained a little at Arriondas at the beginning of the day leaving the Fito ascent damp in several places which made it difficult to select suitable settings and this was complicated further by the selection of tyres for the final run as Javi was uncertain whether to use slicks or to be more cautious and use the treaded tyres that are the usual wear for a wet surface.

After setting the second best time in the free practice, where Javi and his team used the time to continue testing with the new BRC, the Asturian driver finally decided not to take any risks with the tyres for race 3, in view of the ample margin he had had the previous day, choosing to run with treaded tyres. Although the asphalt was now drier, especially in the fast opening section, which caused the tyres to undergo heavier than usual wear, Villa continued to be unreachable as far as his rivals were concerned in the final run. The Asturian driver of the BRC B49 reduced his fastest time from yesterday by four seconds with a gap of more than three seconds to his closest competitor, who today has been the Balearic driver Toni Alarcón, to add his third victory of the weekend and to unreservedly leave his mark on the 2013 Fito Hillclimb.

With this latest triumph, Villa repeats his victory from last year in the Spanish section of the European Hillclimb Championship, returning to demonstrate that he is dominant factor in the national category and, in addition, setting times that have allowed him to even surpass, when the track was more slippery, the majority of the more powerful cars of the European Championship, vehicles that practically have triple the power of his CM chassis. In the Spanish Championship classification Javi is the virtual leader, since he is only a point away from first position in spite of to having competed in one round less and, bearing in mind, that that each driver will have to discard his three worse results at the end of the year, the six victories in six races of the BRC driver give him a great advantage. Javi's next date will also be in Asturias: the Santo Emiliano Hillclimb which will take place in the middle of June at Langreo.

Javi Villa's own words: “The weekend finished very well, with another victory. Today, because the asphalt was damp but drying, when we left for the official run we did not know whether to fit wet or dry tyres whereas that was an easy choice yesterday. In the end we decided to go with wet tyres because of the margin we had, and I was able to take the win with a three second advantage over the second placed car, giving us a clean sweep for the weekend. In addition, Jairo also finished third today and that meant we filled the Fito podium for BRC.”
