Javi Villa to drive the new BRC B49 at Ubrique for the first time.
The 'llagar El Güelu', at Pruvia de Abajo, was the location chosen for the presentation, on Wednesday 17th of April, of the BRC B49, the new Bango Racing Cars design to be driven by Javier Villa in the 2013 Spanish Hillclimb Championship.

The new car means an important step forward from the CM05EVO at the wheel of which Villa dominated all the hillclimbs he entered in 2012, setting the CM record at the courses of Ubrique, El Fito, Santo Emiliano, Liébana, Tamaimo and Arona. To beat these records will be among the targets for Javi in the 2013 season with the B49, the development of which he has collaborated from all his setup work on the previous model throughout 2012.

The first competition where Villa will drive the BRC B49 is the Ubrique hillclimb, to be run this weekend and this kickstarts the season of the Spanish Championship. It was here that Javi won last year so the records he set then will be the first reference point to see the progress achieved with the new Bango Racing Cars CM which, as its constructor, Jesús Bango, explained yesterday during the presentation, shows important improvements at chassis, suspension and, specially, aerodynamic levels.

With the BRC B49 Javi Villa will be favourite for the win in Ubrique, the first 2013 hillclimb of the national series.,A points system change for this season will allow him to fight for the title even if he can't attend all the events because of date clashes with the European NASCAR schedule. If Javi manages to win the championship it will be his third national title after the two won in F3, where he won the Junior category, and the Mini Challenge. Two series run with very different cars and also totally different to the BRC he drives in hillclimbs, showing again the great versatility of Villa, who this year is also one of the main contenders in European NASCAR.

Javier Villa's own words: "The new BRC B49 means a step forward from the previous model. It's a car I have collaborated with its development, working with Bango Racing Cars all last season, and I am looking forward to driving it at Ubrique. this is a hillclimb where we run last year, and where we've got the record, it will be a good reference to start working on the setup of the new car, with which we hope to win the title of Spanish Hillclimb Champion, something I would especially enjoy as, if I do it it will be my third national title with three very different cars after winning the Junior class in F3 and the Mini Challenge."
