Javier Villa all ready for the first race in the 2013 European NASCAR series.
Nogaro, 28th March 2013: This weekend the 2013 season of the European NASCAR series starts at the French track of Nogaro with Javier Villa among the top contenders for the second year in a row.

The Spaniard has been in France since the beginning of the week carrying out all the work prior to this first race weekend with his new team, the French Scorpus Racing squad. Villa will drive car number 9 that he has already briefly tested a couple of weeks ago at Nogaro, although rain prevented him from completing all of the test program.

The bad weather could also be one of the key factors for this first event of the 2013 European NASCAR season, as the forecast is for rain at Nogaro for the weekend. This would hamper the work program scheduled for this first time that Javi and the Scorpus team will race together, so both driver and team are trying to get the maximum of this days prior to perfectly prepare the car and decide on all the planning ahead of the upcoming competition days.

The race weekend program starts on Friday with two test sessions, each one 60 minutes long. Another one is due on Saturday ahead of qualifying, from 16:30. On Saturday, at 17:00, is scheduled the first of the two races Javi Villa is entering, the second being held on Easter Monday, also at 17:00h. All within a packed program throughout the four days at the Nogaro track where the European NASCAR klickstarts the season sharing the focus with the FIA GT World Series.

Javier Villa: "I've been at Nogaro from the start of the week to do all the preparation work with the team: organisation, car setup, free practice sessions planning, etc. The target is to have everything as ready as possible ahead of this first race weekend by working together. Right now the forecast is for rain for the weekend, which could impede us from getting the maximum out of the three free practice sessions due before qualifying so we'll have to maximise every minute on track with the new car."
